居留證
外僑居留證就如同國際學生在臺灣的身分證,是居留在臺灣的身份證明文件,因此對每個國際學生來說都是非常重要的,請務必妥善保管並隨時注意你的居留期限。
一、初次申請
初次來台之新生、僑大及直升研究所之學生、華語中心轉就學之華語生(自入境日起算30日內需申辦居留證)
應備文件
1. 2吋大頭照1張
2. 護照正本、影本(正本驗畢後退還)
3. 居留簽證正本、影本(正本驗畢後退還)
4. 海聯分發書或教育部核准自招學生之大學核准入學函正本、影本(正本驗畢後退還)
5. 在學證明(至註冊組申請)
6. 住宿證明(租屋者附一個月內簽訂之租約;住學校宿舍者由學校開立證明)
7. 證照費: 新臺幣1,000元(1年效期)
• 僑生500元(簽證註記為FC者)
• 審查所需時間:10個工作天(不含收件日、例假日、補件、郵寄時間及警察紀錄核轉時間)
二、延期
所有學生皆須務必於效期屆滿前30天內辦理居留證延期。
應備文件
1. 居留證正本(需繳回居留證正本)
2. 護照正本、影本(正本驗畢後退還)
3. 在學證明(至註冊組申請)或學生證(須蓋當學期註冊章)
4. 延期證照費:新臺幣1,000元(1年效期)
• 僑生500元(簽證註記為FC者)
• 審查所需時間:10個工作天
延期方式如下:
1、至國合處延期
攜帶護照、居留證、委託書與新台幣1,000元(外籍)500元(僑生)至本處,會統一協助延期申請。送出申請後須等約10個工作天審核通過。選擇由國合處延期者,本處收到新證後會通知領取。
2、自行線上延期
至外國與外僑學生線上申辦系統辦理延期。

操作方式可以參考操作影片。審核通過後將收到email通知,完成繳費並列印收據後,可至移民署領取新證。
三、居留證逾期
未於居留期限內辦理延期者,主管機關得廢止當事人居留資格,並限令出國。 逾期30日內(不含第30天)且在學中,於繳交罰款及延期費用後,可申請延長並繼續居留。逾期30日以上(含第30天)且在學中,須繳交罰款後於7天內出境,並重新申請簽證返台就學。
四、逾期罰款規定
逾期1-10天:新臺幣10,000元 逾期11-30天:新臺幣20,000元 逾期31-60天:新臺幣30,000元 逾期61-90天:新臺幣40,000元 逾期91天以上:新臺幣50,000元
五、遺失補發
應備文件 1. 護照正本、影本(正本驗畢後退還) 2. 遺失居留證切結書 3. 補發證照費: 新臺幣500元 審查所需時間:約10個工作天(不含收件日、例假日、補件、郵寄時間及警察紀錄核轉時間)
六、資料異動
如有變更地址或就讀學校,應於事實發生之翌日起30日內線上申辦資料異動。未於期限內變更者,將處最高新臺幣10,000罰鍰。 1.變更居住地址 應備文件: • 房屋契約或住宿證明 • 居留證正本及影本各一份 • 護照正本及影本各一份 2. 變更就讀學校:如確認轉學並順利前往新學校就讀 應備文件: • 房屋契約或住宿證明 • 居留證正本及影本各一份 • 護照正本及影本各一份 • 學生證(該學期須已完成註冊) • 新學校在學證明 變更費用:變更住址、就讀學校,免費;其餘須收費500元 罰鍰:未於時間內變更居留地址或就讀學校,所處之罰鍰如下: • 第一次違規者,處新臺幣2,000元罰鍰。 • 第二次違規者,處新臺幣5,000元罰鍰。 • 第三次違規者,處新臺幣10,000元罰鍰。
七、注意事項
1、申請離校(休學、退學、畢業)且持以就學為目的之居留證者,於完成離校手續後,居留證便會失效。請於移民署規定時間內離境。休學結束後欲返臺復學時,須重新申請簽證入境。 應備文件 1. 居留證正本及影本各一份(正本繳回) 2. 護照正本及影本各一份 3. 休(退)學證明書 4. 出境機票 2、在學期間如有預計離境,請務必於離境前確認外僑居留證於返臺時仍在有效效期內。如有必要,請提早至線上申請系統辦理外僑居留證延期。

🇹🇼 Alien Resident Certificate (ARC)
The Alien Resident Certificate (ARC) serves as the ID card for international students in Taiwan and is the official proof of your residence status. It is extremely important for every international student; please keep it safe and always pay attention to its expiry date.
I. First-Time Application
This applies to new students, students from university preparatory programs, students entering graduate school directly, and Chinese language center students transferring to a degree program (must apply for the ARC within 30 days of arrival).
Required Documents

One 2-inch passport-style photo.

Original and photocopy of your passport (original will be returned after verification).

Original and photocopy of your Resident Visa (original will be returned after verification).

Original and photocopy of your admission letter/document (e.g., Overseas Chinese student placement notice, or University admission letter for independently recruited students) (original will be returned after verification).

Proof of Enrollment (Apply at the Registration Section).

Proof of Accommodation (If renting, provide a lease signed within the last month; if living in a dorm, the university will issue the proof).

Application Fee: NT$1,000 (for 1-year validity).

Overseas Chinese students (with Visa Note: FC) pay NT$500.

II. Extension
All students must apply for an ARC extension within 30 days before the current expiry date.
Required Documents

Original ARC (must be submitted).

Proof of Enrollment (Apply at the Registration Section) or Student ID Card (must have the current semester's registration stamp).

Extension Fee: NT$1,000 (for 1-year validity).

Methods of Extension

Extension via the Office of International Affairs (OIA):
Bring your passport, ARC, power of attorney (if applicable), and NT$1,000 (for international students) or NT$500 (for Overseas Chinese students) to the OIA. We will submit the application on your behalf. After submission, the review process takes about 10 working days. The OIA will notify you when the new ARC is ready for collection.

Self-Application Online:
Apply for the extension through the Online Application System for Foreign and Overseas Chinese Students.

You can refer to the operational video for guidance. You will receive an email notification upon approval. After completing the payment and printing the receipt, you can collect the new ARC from the National Immigration Agency (NIA) service center.
III. ARC Overstay (Expiration)
Failure to apply for an extension before the expiration date may lead to the governing authority revoking the residence status and ordering the individual to leave the country.

Overstay within 30 days (excluding the 30th day) and currently enrolled: You may apply for an extension and continue residing in Taiwan after paying a fine and the extension fee.

Overstay for 30 days or more (including the 30th day) and currently enrolled: You must pay a fine and leave the country within 7 days. You must then re-apply for a visa to return to Taiwan to resume studies.

V. Lost ARC Replacement

A signed affidavit/statement confirming the loss of the ARC.

Replacement Fee: NT$500.

VI. Information Changes (Address/School)
If you change your address or the school you attend, you must apply online for the information change within 30 days of the change occurring. Failure to change the information within the deadline may result in a fine of up to NT$10,000.
1. Change of Residential Address

2. Change of School (after officially transferring and enrolling)

Other changes incur a fee of NT$500.
Fines for Failure to Change:
Failure to change your residence address or school within the deadline will result in the following fines:

1st violation: NT$2,000 fine.

2nd violation: NT$5,000 fine.

3rd violation: NT$10,000 fine.
VII. General Notes

Leaving School (Suspension, Withdrawal, Graduation): If you apply to leave school and hold an ARC based on student status, the ARC will become invalid upon completing the departure procedures. You must leave the country within the time specified by the NIA. If you plan to return to Taiwan after a suspension, you must re-apply for a visa.

Planning to Leave Taiwan: Before any planned departure, you must ensure that your ARC will be valid upon your return to Taiwan. If necessary, please apply for an ARC extension via the online system well in advance of your departure.
