Insurance (group insurance)

1. Group injury and illness medical insurance for foreign students

1. Legal provisions

According to Taiwan government regulations, foreign students must apply for insurance (group insurance)/national health insurance (national health insurance) during their studies in Taiwan. Students can join the National Health Insurance only after they obtain a valid residence permit and have lived in Taiwan for 6 months. If students have not signed up for health insurance during their stay in Taiwan, they must sign up for group insurance.

2. Claims application method

After the consultation, please be sure to attach the diagnosis certificate, hospital receipt, photocopy of your residence permit, and photocopy of your bankbook, and fill out the insurance application form at the International Cooperation Office. We will assist you in handling the claim.

2. Student safety insurance

1. The law stipulates the method and amount of insurance premium payment.

The school will include the student safety insurance premium payable by the student in the tuition and miscellaneous fee payment slip for each semester, and the student must pay it together when registering. This fee is non-refundable.

2. Claims application method

Insurance (health insurance)

1. Legal provisions

According to the provisions of the National Health Insurance Law, all persons who have resided in Taiwan for 6 months with proof of residence documents are required to participate in the National Health Insurance. Residence in Taiwan for 6 months refers to the period of continuous residence for 6 months after entering the Taiwan area and obtaining an alien residence permit or having left the country once but not exceeding 30 days. . During the first 6 months when students are in Taiwan and have not yet signed up for health insurance, they must sign up for the foreign student group injury and illness medical insurance (group insurance).

2. Insurance premium payment method and amount

The school will include the health insurance premiums payable by students in the tuition and miscellaneous fee payment slips for each semester, and students must pay them together when registering.

3. Transferring to our school to apply for health insurance

• Situation 1: Newly admitted students and not insured in other units

The International Cooperation Office will handle the application for health insurance and health insurance IC card for students after they obtain a valid residence permit and have lived in Taiwan for 6 months in accordance with regulations. The Central Health Insurance Agency is responsible for verifying and issuing the health insurance card and sending it to the school. After receiving the health insurance card, the National Health Insurance Office will notify the students to come and collect the card.

• Situation 2: Already insured with other units, but needs to be transferred to the school for insurance

Please go to the original insurance unit (for example: language school, work unit, town or city office, etc.) to handle the transfer of health insurance. After obtaining the health insurance transfer form or transfer certificate, you can then provide the documents to the International Cooperation Office to apply for health insurance. Transfer matters.

• Situation 3: Already insured in other units, and does not need to be transferred to the school for insurance

Please provide proof of your overseas insurance and inform the person in charge of the International Cooperation Office, and check the tuition and miscellaneous fee payment slip at the beginning of each semester to avoid repeated payments.

4. Transferring or withdrawing from the school’s health insurance agency

• Situation 1: Suspended, dropped out of school, graduated, transferred to another school, worked

• Situation 2: Transferring from this school to other schools/institutions or working outside the home

Please go to the National Cooperation Office to handle health insurance refund and transfer matters. Bring the health insurance transfer form issued by the school to your school to handle the transfer of health insurance.
